How to use the archives
This archive has six main menu items that appear across the top of each page. Click on any menu item below to see its search parameters or subtopics.
Productions
- Shows 1956-2006
- archive shows partial information for shows pre-1985
- shows after 1985 have programs and may also have photos, publicity, or recorded commentary
- Search by production
- titles
- season (fall of one year to spring of the next)
- alphabetically or chronologically
- A production’s page will include the following:
- title
- names of creative collaborators
- season
- program excerpts
- brief plot summary (plays 1985-2006)
- excerpts from local newspapers (select plays 1985-2006)
- audio commentary by Producing Artistic Director Arnold Mittelman (plays 1985-2006)
Collaborators
To see an individual’s creative contributions in any and all shows, search by:
- name
- production
- title (creative billing)
Memorabilia
Search by:
- production name – to find
- find all materials for any production
- find specific material type for that production
- artifact type
- find programs,photos,publicity ,oral commentary
History
- Select “Timeline” or “Overview” to briefly see the significant events of the Playhouse’s 50 years
- Select by year range for the history of CGP’s three key eras as a movie house, a for-profit theater, and as a non-profit theater
Education
describes the education programs and initiatives after the Playhouse became “not-for-profit” in the late 1970s. Includes photographs and selected copies of documents like teacher’s guides and workbooks.
